I did not know Irene well. Our contact was limited but frequent, usually daily, as she tried to keep my office from descending into chaos and neglect. For many years she had worked at our office in Poynton, and brought her warmth and humanity, as well as her unstinting hard work to the task. We were both shocked to hear of her death and fully appreciate the family's sense of loss at the sudden end to the life of a very lovely woman. May she rest in peace. Jim and Jannine
